out there. days of shortened more than nine hours in northern north america. we lost about 2.3 hours of daylight here seasonally as the days compress. but it's gorgeous. 71 in chicago. milwaukee is at 66. much of the mid west cooler than 24 hours ago. and there is a little plot of moisture coming up into the plains. storm prediction center is predicting an active severe weather outbreak in the plains once again as happened yesterday. that little moisture tongue hits this jet stream and impulse comes along and the whole thing goes up. you see how this branch of the jet is coming southward? there is some really cool air in this notice next couple of days in this pattern. but it comes southward and then kind of sheers off to the east. one of these days it will come south and keep going but we aren't there yet. winds are north -- or were at least the wind vein is pointing in that direction. 49% is the humidity. and the dew point is at 51 and barometer 30.14 and 68 is the water temperature. ragweed, grass and weed down to moderate left's mold spores high today. been a rough hay fever seas

the sunshine. now for the americas, likely another calm, settled day for the majority of the united states and even in toward northern mexico. very little clouds showing up here. a little bit more activity here toward the east along the east coast of the united states and then all the way down and across the caribbean. in the caribbean we have a new tropical depression that has joined us showing signs of strengthening and organizing. it will likely become a tropical storm system within the next 24 hours so we are keeping close eye on this storm system. already, though, bringing pretty hefty showers across the region looking at warnings in effect across places like cuba, the bahamas, even for the florida peninsula already. could turn a lot stormier the next couple days so that is something to watch out for. also for central america, two showers continuing to pound the area. we are hearing of major landslides across the region. so not good newssaturated areas. 30 degrees in miami. looking at a lot of 20s across the east. still hot for l.a. at 32 and up to 30 degrees in denver as well during

for chongqing. now, across the americas still really dry picture. not much going on for a lot of the united states, as well as western canada. even down across northern mexico, too a very calm picture in terms of rainfall. but plenty of activity instead, focused here towards the east from the caribbean islands all the way along the atlantic seaboard. plenty of moisture in place for you today. we have this frontal boundary that's really mixing with all the remnant moisture from tropical storm nicole which formed briefly over cuba and then has since dissipated. but still a lot of moisture remains in the region. also looking at this system coming in towards eastern canada, too. so overall, all across this eastern section we're going to see a lot of wet weather falling in the next couple of days. especially heavy rainfall impacting areas along the mid-atlantic seaboard. a big concern here. it could easily trigger flooding and possibly landslides across the area. rafall accumulations are goi to connue pe over th next couple of days. and just the next tay w ctasuc lot rainfall affecting a wide
